Find a bookshelf at the base of the stairs leading down to the archives with a small selection of used books in Finnish and about all things Finnish.  They also often have a book sales during Juhannus (midsummer) and Heikinpäivä in later January.

The PLDL has a small shelf of withdrawn and donated books for sale just as you walk into the library.

A large bookshelf just past the circulation desk at the Van Pelt and Opie Library holds a fe hundred selected books, concentrating on fiction and more popular works.  Cash payment in a slot in the shelves (and don’t forget to drop off your Econo grocery receipts to benefit FMTL).

Serving primary the needs for textbooks and apparel for the Michigan Tech community, this store also carries recent books by faculty and some light reading and local interest books.  Website.

On Saturday of Winter Carnival in late February, the FMTL holds its Winter Carnival book sale in the lobby of Van Pelt and Opie Library on the campus of Michigan Technological University.

Prices are amazing, typically $2 hardback, $1 paperback, and just 25¢ for mass-market paperback fiction.  CDs and DVDs also available for $1 each (slightly more for sets/seasons)

There is also free hot chocolate, cookies and snacks for everyone while they enjoy the Winter Carnival snow sculptures.
